Fuel Pressure Gauge

Ok. I really really need some help here guys. My buddy Tim and I are trying to install my fuel pressure gauge. We have it all wired up, and the led works etc. However we can not thread the bolt onto the fuel rail.

The stock bolt that came to thread to the fuel rail and then to the fuel sending unit would not fit. So we tried to tap it, and ended up breaking it. So finally we found what we needed.

Basically we need 1/4th on one end and 7/16th's on the other end for them to match up. We found the part, and we lock tite the hell out of the fuel rail valve, and tried to screw it on, no luck. It simply wont go down far enough.

So, I guess monday I am going to have to have a custom bolt made UNLESS the fuel pressure sending unit does not need to be extremely close to the fuel rail valve.

Let me know guys thanks. Hopefully I explained this correctly.

Has anyone ever installed the autometer cobalt series fuel pressure gauge in there 2.0 ss/sc?

iirc most fuel rail pressure taps are -4 an, and most autometer sending units are 1/8 pipe thread. what i would do is get a peice of pre-made -4 fuel/nitrous line, screw that to the rain, then have a -4 male to 1/8npt female for the sending unit, and remote mount the sending unit somewere to the side. you also need to remove the shrader valve from the fuel rail for it to work.

id have to double check the size of the fitting on the rail though, im not 100% sure if the cobalt is the same as everything else.

We did remove the schrader valve from the fuel rail, however we just need to find the right fitting. Hopefully monday we can find exactly what we need. I don't care if I have to have a custom piece made, I just need to know what I need.

So hopefully someone can tell me specifically what I need. I will tell my buddy what you typed, because it will make more sense to him, then it does to me. But I will try and get that part.

Without it, my fuel pressure gauge won't get installed, blah.

yes i have i'll take a pic and put it in my pics and show you how i did it its -4 to 1/8 pipe thread fitting that u will need and a 90 degree fitting, you put the 90 degree fitting on first then the -4 to 1/8 pipe on that then the sender, without the 90 degree fitting it would be sticking straight up and prob hit the hood.

Would this be the same fittings to use for a 2.2? I have the same problem with my fuel pressure gauge.
