My car isnt a G85, but it launches fantastic with 2 nice even tire marks on the ground. The LSD really helps on an auto cross track like one of the other members said . It's your choice though. If you find a real nice one without it don't be afraid to buy it. The car will still be fast and launch fine.

^misconception, the LSD does not necessarily have Recaro's, it depends on the year.
LSD keeps the inside wheel from lighting up in a sharp turn, i would recommend getting it because this car was designed to handle well, not just to go fast in a straight line. the LSD keeps the traction high in a turn allowing you to keep you speed up. very worth it.
To find out whether or not you have the G85 package, check under the trunk carpeting on the left side, there is a label with all the vehicle options codes, and G85 will be on there if you indeed have it.

like someone said above, with equal length drive shafts and enough power, you will still leave 2 tire marks. I don't have an LSD, but you better believe that it leaves to perfectly equal tire marks.
In a straight line on a FWD car, an open diff shows almost no difference from an LSD. in the turns is where you see the benefits.

it puts power to the one with most traction, which i beleive usually would end up spinning the shorter driveshaft while the other wheel does nothing, but with equal length drive shafts, and equal tractionboth will spin

In a straight line an open diff will still leave 2 tire marks. The LSD helps when you are cornering and one of the wheels starts to loose traction it spilts the torque to the other tire. I have a late model 07' without recaros and i even looked at the build sheet in the trunk under the mat. I don't have a G85, but in a straight line i have always left 2 even tire marks on the pavement.
