gas

i have a ss/sc and im completely stock, now i use sunoco 94 oct and notice my gas goes down very fast or i get around 10.7l/100km or run about 400km on a full tank and i DO NOT drive hard at all, now is it the gas i use or what? if im stock should i use 91 oct instead and would i see better fuel usage

There are so many variables to consider when your talking fuel consumption. I would say that if you keep driving the way you do now, even though you don't drive hard, the fuel consumption should stay pretty much the same. If you switch to 91 it will just be a bit easier on your wallet. In fact, 94 theoretically should last longer because it has a bit higher of an octane rating.

Your milage figures are about the same as mine, so that's not going to change. You probably do a lot of stop and go driving in southern Ont.?
91 octane is what's recomended for a stock SC. I ran it before my stage 2 was installed and it was happy. I now run 94 or 92 (depending on where I am), and there is no noticable difference in the way the car runs. The octane rating of gasoline has no bearing on its potential energy. The higher the number, the higher the temperatures needed to ignite the mixture fully and efficiently. Thats all. So save your money.

Hey there Scarborough............I lived there most of my life!!!!! If you have a new SS/SC it might be a while until your car calms down and gives you a little more bang for your buck!!!

it totally depends. in united states terms, and i specify since i think we are the only country using this metering, i get about 21mpg city. I average 26 mpg city/highway. pure highway i get about 32mpg. i dont care to translate, but if you want, translate. also remember that i live in flat florida.

I have never used anything other than 91 to 94. It's just better for the car to always use premium gas. I will tell you that your performance is greatly improved by using 94.

Yes, switch to 91. It's all that it needs/wants anyway.
Some time ago I posted a paper on Octane. Unessesarily running hi-po when it's not required isn't only expensive, it bumps your emitions (hard on your cat), it gums-up cylinder walls and fouls plugs.

using the incorrect octane, whether too high or too low will affect your gas mileage. if you're stock there's no reason to be using 94.
