Maybe it's programed to give a higher reading so that when people test drive it they are WOWed into getting it. Or trying to make you think your getting better then what you are.

I hear that having larger fuel injectors can throw it off... Sounds like you get about what I do and I have 42# injectors

Not really. They tried. It can only be so precise... it's a good rough estimate.

i get around 27, car says 34 sometimes. the real problem is the gas gauge, i never run out of gas but if i were a dumb broad who didnt know the car or how to read a fuel gauge, the digital gas left redout would **** me! lol right when my car hits 1/4 left it reads like 75 miles left and when i hit the E line (i never do that to my baby though!) it still says 49 miles left lmao

Basically the digital readout sucks it doesn't show the right gas mileage you should just multiply and divide it'll be accurate

Once mine starts to get close to the empty line, with like 60 miles left, it just says "Fuel range low". I dunno if it's cause you have an '05, Ashley.

If your stock,
are you still under warranty? I wonder what would happen
if some one took their car in to a dealership for this error.

I mean, a rough estimate is understandable
but to be off by 10mpg?? That's not a rough
estimate. Something isn't correct.

range 25-35. I achieved 35 driving 60mph on a longer trip. i had a blowout and was on the donut. otherwise i average 26-27 pretty consitantly. the DIC always reads 34-35 though. so yeah i dont even bother with it. its read as high as 37 or so but have never actually gotten that much from a tank.

Well if you get some extra time and youre bored,
take it in under warranty and see what they say about
why its in error. Im interested in what excuse they will
use. Chances are the excuse will be something that anyone
with a descent understanding of how a car works will
instantly know is bull.

is there any reason you type in newspaper columns? lol.

you don't have to hit enter everytime you get close to the end of the text box. it will just keep it all on the same line in the thread or flow it over and it wont look strange.

now on to the matters at hand. if everyone is saying that their computer is grossly inflating their MPG then i need to lay off the gas. mine only says 26 average. lol

so in reality im only getting like 20? ****.
