Gears

Is any company planning on making gears for our cars? I really would like to see the cup car 4.45 gears go on the market. I think it would help us out a lot

Build book says it's just one ring to change the final drive.

As for the benefit, if it's like most "racing" built transmissions it would give better acceleration with a slightly lower top speed.

gets you in your powerband quicker so acceleration is increased however top-end speed is lowered

I honestly like our 1st gear. Yea it's short, but once you master it it becomes golden. I've learned how to launch, barely spin all through 1st and nail 2nd right into the powerband.

need a taller gear to help first out...

most people when referring to gears want to increase them (make them smaller)... doing that in 1st would make it worse.

Yeah there is no point in going to bigger gears in this car with our first gear the way it is already. Maybe if you built an all out race engine and reved to 9k but for the 7k limit it's not needed.

I both agree and disagree. For daily driving or for drag racing, there's no need to swap it out. But for those of us who auto-x or road race, the GAC final drive would be a Godsend!!!

I do believe that autotech is working on a 6 speed swap for the F35 transmission. There is a thread about it here: https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/show...ghlight=quaife
