I drove the car like a spider monkey. lol

It's all in the launch man. 10.5" mickey thompson slicks allowed me to launch and then hit 2nd with the pedal to the floor. But I still bogged out cause I didn't launch very hard. The car had a 13.4 or better in it easily.

WHAT?! Hell no the stock tires aren't good, or amazing. They are all season tires, not drag tires. If you want good 60ft.s, you need to get slicks or drag radials.

that won't snap axles. wheel hop will snap axles. You aren't going to wheel hop with slicks. I've done PLENTY of 5 grand launches on slicks and have NO axles problems.

Honestly, if you have to ask those questions I don't think you should go to the track just yet. Just my .02. Do a little more research, you'd be surprised at how much you learn.

I'm not saying that it isn't possible, cause it is. BUT, show me someone in a cobalt that has busted a axle with slicks. I don't know of ANYONE, but I know of a ton of people that have wheel hopped one too many times and broke axles. Your less likely to break an axle with slicks BECAUSE, you are less likey to wheel hop.
