I don't think anybody has HP numbers laid out. It probably does as well as any Aftermarket intake on the market. It's a personal preference thing -- pricey but looks great, sounds great, can't go wrong with it.

I just noticed that this is in the 2.0 section -- the GMPP intake is for the 2.2 and 2.4.

I haven't found a specific warranty write-up like the GMPP exhaust has. Probably the same waranty as other GMPP parts though.

The GMPP exhaust warranty is as follows:

Purchase from GM and have installed by dealer -- balance of car warranty applies
Installed after car warranty by dealer: 1 year or 12000 mile warranty
You or other shop installs: 1 year warranty (parts only)

Talk to your dealer and have them look at the 2007 GMPP Vehicle Performance Catalog page 62.

Your warranty won't be Void either way. An aftermarket CAI will not void your warranty.

depending on your dealer and the service managers you are dealing with.

and for good measure, i can clarify that this is not a 2.0 ss/sc part.

Write up is wrong that is all. someone is not in the know of the car. it does say for L61 which is the 2.2. and the pic is of a 2.2.

"Note: Not for use with 2.0 Super Charged Engines (LSJ 2.0)"

http://www.crateenginedepot.com/stor...P1653C137.aspx

The write up is correct. Air intake is on the driver side in a 2.0 SC car. 2.2 and 2.4 air intake is on the passenger side. The GMPP intake kit will not fit on the SS/SC.

No... You go in for warranty work because your shifter top came off... they ARE NOT allowed to deny you warranty work.

The ONLY way they can deny warranty work is if they can 100% prove that your aftermarket part is responsible.

Don't take **** from Service guys about this either. This is a FEDERAL LAW... and they are not above it.

Ok, let me explain this as I have done many times before. If your shifter knob breaks they will fix that. If your engine brakes, you are screwed. They will not warranty your engine if you put an aftermarket intake on it unless the approve of the intake. As for the 100% proof thing, well here's an example. Car engine blows, you take it to the dealer they say you had a CAI, it added 1hp, the car's components are only made for the stock number, your warranty is here by voided. It's that easy. Everyone here who mods and thinks their warranty is ok because you are going to go into the dealer screaming Moss-Magnusson are crazy. Any part that changes the performance of the engine from it's original state is going to effectively void your warranty. Some dealers are leaniant, many are not.

I don't want to see anyone go through a bunch of stuff because of some not so great info they read here. I'm not saying what you said is wrong, because it's techically not, but in the real world it doesn't work like that. If you mod your engine, your drivetrain warranty will be useless unless you have one hell of a lawyer and some really deep pockets. Even then the law is not on your side.

Sorry to get sidetracked, but it's important people know the loop holes.

good luck trying to convince them that when something goes really wrong with your engine that your aftermarket parts did not contribute/cause the problem.

they know just as well as you do that you are not going to take them to court. the laws are in your favor, and i understand that. however, in reality, there is no way a pissed of dealership is going to warranty blown motor with other parts. you're being a bit too optimistic

im not saying i have the problem tho, my dealership asks me what i've done to the car every time i go in for service. they certainly do not mind at all.

Too Much. Just go ask them for an Estimate.

True. Blowing an engine is one thing. But voiding THE warranty is a whole other. And I have seen a case of a blown motor with a CAI get covered. It took a lot of arguing and bickering... but they covered it eventually. RARE... but possible.
