A couple threads ago there was a big discussion about either geting GM exhaust or just cut from the axel back and install a muffler. That bend over the axel is 2.25" and the rest of the stock exhaust is 2.5"
The GM exhaust is 2.5" all the way including over the axel with a free flowing muffler. That's the benefit to getting the GM Cat-Back. I don't know where this GM exhaust is 2.25" is coming from.

And yes, the GMPP cat-back is 2.25, it drops down from stock. Hard to believe but it is true. There is someone who has similar mods with the exception of having a 3" exhaust and I have +20 ft/lbs or torque than he does.

**** everyone who has this exhaust loves it, i do, it produces more ponies than stock so you still win, ad the exhasut manifold from gm and it feels like you took out the back seats, gutted the interior and removed the spare tire, very surprised how well it all comes together, i know people having problems with exhuast leaks, sound quality, rust and other things from comapines im not gonna mention, look at what doc produced, the system is worth the money!

My setup will be the GM manifold, GM performance exhaust, Cobalt Addictions 2.5" downpipe w/cat., GM angle tip.

I am getting the GM cat-back and the GM manifold. If GM made a nice downpipe I would be all over it. Do you know something about a downpipe or something? Do tell.........

The Manifold
The downpipe w/cat
The cat-back
So it depends how far you want to go with the exhaust.
Due to the fact you have stage 2 you are briniging in a lot of air so you need to get it out.
That's why i'm doing the entire exhaust. You should too if the funds let you.
Even just the cat-back and nothing else would help. I don't want a true header because of the heat it gives off. I like GM's manifold. A good downpipe is literaly worth 10hp by itself. So the cat-back is worth about 5hp, the manifold is worth about 5hp and the downpipe is worth about 10hp. So with the setup I plan on installing it should yeild realisticly 15-20whp.

That would be about 260whp. Not bad. You have just about the same mods as me so that's where you would be too.
