I think you are wrong on this one. They came from the Autorama show in Detroit and GM Performance Parts is a sponser of the show.

Did it say that it raised the rev limiter?

I expanded the dyno for a reason. Look at it. It stops at 7k while the old one stops at 6500

Maybe so...
But there's numerous clues within those pics that indicate they were not GM sourced.
(certain "official" publication standards that are very obviously not met)
But either way they dont really reveal anything new do they?

But nobody was positive on it. We knew it SHOULD have it but, at least in the RL world, we have been debating both issues for quite a while now

I dont wanna argue with you WOT, I feel like im david yelling at goalith but if your asking me then I'll respond:

It looks like a GMPP official publication because:
1) It has the GM style of past wall posters
2) It has detailed specs on parts
3) Shoes someone installing it on a 06 comp pack which is the top of the line RL you can get and one GM would want to show off anyway
4) Shoes P/N#'s along with pictures which all GM posters have done
5) Was at a convention sponsored by GM

Please dont be vengeful WOT just my humble opinion, I wuv u

Nope.

GM will be making a 77.9 pulley that will be a certified GMPP unit. You will be able to add this later. It might be called Stage 2+ but that is still unconfirmed however the 77.9 will be made for public consumption at a later date

Hmmm looks like I am going 1 of two routes..... stg 1 + 2.9 billet flow pulley or stg 2 take the hit get the belt and 2.9 inch billetflow pulley. I personally think a 2.8 is cutting it a little close to the over spin rate on the m62. You know what really bothers me though... unless I missed it there was no price...... it is now march and still no price... something is wrong here.... we may not see these kits until late summer

going off the 14,000 redline on the blower here's the breakdown:

2.8" pulley = 15,000 blower rpm @ 7000 car rpm //// 14000 blower rpm @ 6533 car rpm

2.9" pulley = 14,482 blower rpm @ 7000 car rpm //// 14000 blower rpm @ 6767 car rpm

3.0" pulley = 14,000 blower rpm @ 7000 car rpm

Yikes then I will maybe stay with the 3.0 GM supplies or stay with my billet flow..... I may lose 2-3 hp but oh well... i can make it up in other areas... also I cant see GM covering a blower that has ceased up due to over spin...

now I thought our rev limiters were closely tied in with our valve springs ?? Maybe I dont know what I am talking about but how can they just raise the limiter without getting float ??

Again I could be an idiot on this one....

That makes some what sense to me, as well I am not any expert but it might be just electrical like a pre-set rev limiter, we have had the room all the time just not allowed to use it till now. I have no clue if it can work like that but thats my guess.

one that i wouldn't have an issue with putting on is a 2.95" pulley. that would be as small as i would personally put on because it is:

14237 blower rpm @ 7000 car rpm //// 14000 blower rpm @ 6883 car rpm

so it's only in the redline for the last 117 car rpm. unless you are dynoing, or run it on a hairline before the fuel shutoff the chances of being in that rpm are very slim.

if you're running the car so hard you hit the fuel cutoff, it slows you down drastically anyways

appearently you didn't learn what fuel cutoff means.

if you are running WOT in second and hit the fuel cutoff, the car jerks hard a couple times a second.... usually if you hit it without knowing it will jerk multiple times before the split second it takes you to lift off the gas. it doesn't slow you down 20 mph, it just keeps you from over-revving the engine and if you are bouncing off the rev limiter for 3-5 seconds, you need driving lessons

in 3rd and 4th the car is usually under such a heavy load it takes very little to keep it from over-revving so you don't feel it as bad

Ha Ha No Worries Alpha! You can argue with me anytime!
All I was getting at is ALL of this information (ie 7000 rpm cutout and 2004-06 LSJ vehicle application) was previously displayed on many of the GMPD placards at SEMA. There's a bunch of old posts in here with photos of them. But maybe you didnt seem em
Again no biggie- but again this "new" info is not so earth shattering IMO, if you think so, that's good enough for me
WOT

PS> And Hey go easy on da wuv stuff man... this aint Brokeback Mtn!!!
I WISH I KNEW HOW TO QUIT YOU!!
