gm stage 2 problem? help?
alright well mine is runing like 12 to 13.....compression good...bypass valve actuator is new and bypass valve is new also.......has anyone seen this.....p.s. i have had my car 3 years in same area ran the correct boost up till now
oh god, not this again....... There really is no set "boost" corresponding to stage kits, It is different at different sea levels, climates, blah blah blah. boost is a measure of restriction. changes in any modification may lower your boost.. especially exhaust system.
12-13 is pretty damn close to the marked 15psi, I would say you are good.

OP if its any consulation Im in chicago (next door) running a 3" pulley with a slight better tune and I am only hitting 14 psi.

I do! I have a stage 2 but a 2.9 pulley and hit 14 psi at wot but with extrude honed header and 2.5" exhaust so I have a bit less restriction keeping my boost lower.
The 15psi number assumes you're otherwise stock. If you have an exhast or intake installed, then it will likely differ. Also, 15PSI goes back down to stock numbers near the redline as a protection feature.
well it always did 15 to 16 psi ...then it i had the 2.8 on and it did 18 to 20 ....then i wanted to take it in for some warranty work....leaky valve over so i switched back to the stage 2 pulley and it was running less boost.... so i switch back to 2.8 and it was only running 15 to 16 so i put it back to stage 2 again....found out there was some problems....like i had a bad bypass valve actuator so that was replaced and it boosted about 14 to 15 ...then it started going down in boost like 13 ...so i had a bad cat....took it in ....replaced now 14 to 15 again ..still a little low for what it use to be but i could deal with that...its humid out....now 12 psi!!..13 tops on a good night.......and tonight i dont know if its right or not but i have intake and catback...gmpp.....and i cobalt that was stock...catback and header and tune only was almost dead even with me....idk if thats normal or not...but i still dont know about the boost....and every now and then my car hesitates in second wot....but no light no knock..nothing!??? help?!?!?
Here's a thought, open your H/E fluid cap and see if the fluid in there is actually moving. Could be possible your pump died and the IAT's are going up, causing the engine to back off.
Na, had that replaced, that went out and the car wouldn't even go above 120, ran like complete ****
Are you talking about the actual plug on the heat exchanger it the fill cap?

No one can tell you what the exact GM Stage 2 boost is supposed to be. GM claims 15 psi, but everyones boost levels will be different. Modifications, location, elevation, temp will all play a part on your boost levels.
Also, boost is a measure of restriction. Higher boost levels do not always mean you are making more power. Remember that !!

GM Stage 2's tune is very conservative. If you race a stock pullied/bolted car with a good tune there is a good chance he could hang with you.
Only had my SS/SC for a little over a week. I am stage two and hit 15 on mine. Sometime it does range between 13-15 but never anything less and mostly always 15.
From what i understand though lots of people are hitting different psi. Would assume it has something to do with outside factors.

I hit 13psi at WOT 2nd.. I've seen 14 some times if it's cool enough.
Temperature outside is a HUGE factor, as well as altitude. The Chicagoland area around this time of the year is muggy as ****.
