gm stage 3?
Nah not really. Some people have trouble with the dual pass setup, but the rest of it is pretty easy. The meth injection is extremely easy and the most efficient. The heat exchangers are pretty easy too. It just depends on how much knowledge you have on working on cars.

If you have a way to get a tune onto your pcm like from ottperformance, then get a methanol injection kit. This is by far the best mod possible for cooling! After that I would go with a heat exchanger, and then a dual pass option b setup.
i have GM stage 3
with the dual pass OPTION B, and an aftermarket heat exchanger..
i spray water in the summer..
it gets beaten on quite a bit in the spring/summer..
and its still kicking.
nitrous is fun too..
it dosnt run pig rich like stage1/2 and timing is upped also.
i run a 2.85 pulley with it and its perfect.
you can log through hpt or the areoforce and i get zero knock.
iat and iat2s are good.
obviously you cant make any changes in the tune.
Now that its winter the car still runs mint.
no glitches or hiccups ect.
dont have to worry about retunes, ect.
i still dont kill it in this weather though, dont see a need.
it runs much better on stock plugs though no matter what temps.
atleast my car does anyway, could be different for others.
put it this way.
with a broken t-stat and a broken intercooler pump my car still made 250 hp on the NITROUS TUNE.
but no nitrous was being sprayed.., The nitrous tune dips into the low to mid 10s from 3500 rpm on. We were just doing a bunch of tests on the dyno, then relazied my car had some broken parts so we shut her down.
now imagine what i could of made on my 93 tune or 100 octane tune if my car was running properly... (IE working t-stat/IC pump)
i run 94 all year around.
now the car is ready to go, gonna wait to the spring to get my final results including a nitrous pull.
hope this helped.

Thats good info to have, an actual user...
stage 3 allows kills your ac, by not allowing you to use it.
If you run meth injection, the car actually "sees" the 100 octane and will use the mode.
Other than that, id honestly still go for the OTT kit.

you can get the a/c back.
there is a how to, i never use it anyway so it was no loss for me.
i havnt played with meth and my 100 octane tune.
there is a shop 5 min away that sells 100 octane, so when ever i feel the need, i grab a bunch from there
also you can play with the rev limit, i set mine at 7200 and shift around 7 grand.
GM stage 3 is a cool thing, and ive seen much more engine failures with custom tunes than GM tunes,
although there are some people on this site who can tune like no other.
Then there are others who dont have a clue..

wow i hear a lot of miss informed people again!!!!!! I have gm stage 3 and i think it is awesome it is a better tune than stage 2, I would recomend to anybody. Unless you have someone local that knows how to tune a lsj i would go with gm stage 3. I would not trust just any shop to tune my car that is not a good idea.
methanol injection, a dual pass end plate (the thing that comes with the stage 3 kit you were looking at), or a new heat exchanger. hell or a combination of all 3
It wasn't that they really beat the **** out of them. The one guy that I know a decent amount about he works for one of the dealerships back home. He tells me that GM has other codes and whatnot besides the reflashes. Well evidently he kept messing with pulley sizes and these codes till it was no more. When I go home tomorrow Ill give this guy a call to find out what not to do.
