I was doing some messing around on the net and happened to find the email address of the person that does press releases for GM Performance. I shot them an email tryin to get info about the stage 3 kit, well it's not urban legend and according to them "If you are serious about your Cobalt's performance you will not be dissapointed when the end of September comes around". That being said i will be emailing them again in about a week to see if they are ready to give me the good hard numbers yet.

 

so do you think its even worth getting a stage 2? a stage 3 is prob like 60 lb injectors, 2.5 pulley and a reflash.

 

no...stage 3 is 100 octane spark curve, pulley, adjustable computer tuning, nitrous capaability.

 

im gonna hold off and see what the stage 3 actually is, i have heard different things. Some say the giggle juice and another flash some say the gmpp sport exhaust and exhaust manifold, all i know is what i got directly from GM and that is that it will make cobalt owners very happy, I'm sending them another email right now to see if they are ready to leak information yet.

 

Yeah get the GM stage 2 because it gives you a hub that you can put smaller pulleys on.

 

By the end of September? Doesn't that sound a little early?

Also, isn't stage 3 off-road only? If you have a dealer put it on, how will you be able to drive it off the lot? Will the dealer no longer pass your car for inspection?

 

What kind of horsepower are we talking with these kits? It sucks that they would come out with a kit that voids your warranty.

 

I just sent off an email asking about the warranty issues as well as pricing and estimate gains and price for the kit. just waiting on a reply. hopefully if i can flood their email box with enough emails they will give me something just to shut me up.

 

the upgrade is likely to be a stage 2-3 upgrade unless they decide to sell stage 1-2-3 as a single package

 

im guessing with the 100 octance and the juice around 300 horsies and 310 tq

 

well i did also offer my vehicle up as a test/promo vehicle since i live within an hour of the GM test facilities in arizona. plus i got the car used with 1k miles and a 3rd party warranty that will cover repair cost for modifications recommended by the manufacturer which i can win that legal battles 2 ways even if the kit comes as off-road only its produced by gm which means they are endorsing their product and if gm denies it i would say lawsuit for selling timebombs for their own product.
