GM Stage 3

Is anyone running the GM Stage 3 yet? I'm wondering how the nitrous setup with the pcm works and if there is a switch or something for when running 100 octane. And how much does the dual pass help with temps?

Well yea there is a switch. It works through the cruise control and then hitting the set button and it toggles it from 93 octane to 100 octane. But what is cool is that if the computer sences that it does not have 100 then it nocks it back to 93 octane safe mode.

The question I have is that I run 93 octane in mine all the time from Sunoco and never any less . Can't we just run the Stage 3 ECU once you have the mods done(bypass plate, exhaust manifold and pulley) all the time if you run with 93 octane and only switch it to the 100 octane when you are at the track instead of having to switch ECU only when you go to the track. I mean if you keep it in the same range as the reflashed stock ECU for S2 then it should be the same right.

It just seems like a pain to me since I runn 93 octane all the time right now.

Anyone know the answer?.....

Not too many people have the FULL stage 3. There are no BIG gains to justify spending that kind of money.

Once you have the Stage 3 ECU in... it stays... you aren't going to have to switch between those when you go to the track. that would be TOO big of a pain in the ass, because when you switch an ECU there is like a half hour long process you go through... Security Relearn Procedure which is basically a Crankshaft Position Variation Learn.

Once Stage 3 ECU is in... you can leave it in and it will run fine in 93oct mode(Stage 2 Flash).

I have the stage 3 intercooler, I have HPtuners so no need for the PCM.

Hard to say how much it helps until it's summer and it's hot out.

I'm wondering about the tune for 100 octane and how much does the stg 3 ecu help with nitrous. I wonder if you can tune on both settings?

hey zinner what are your numbers? Your mod list looks close to what I will have in a few months

What do you wonder about the 100 Octane Mode? And it helps in Nitrous... by doing it safely. It will change your Timing and all that sort of stuff to properly and safely run NAWZZZ. What questions do you have?

stage 3 also dissables the a/c...which means the compressor clutch wont work...so in like winter i dont think even your heat would work.
