GM stage 3

I was thinking about ordering this, but i read that it disables your air conditioning while the pcm is plugged in.. not to happy about that living in flordia lol. Is there a work around for this yet, like a chip u can put in between your computer and the pcm to block it from reprograming the air conditioning. Otherwise when u stop at a light next to that weak mustang u wanna race, u have do a chinese fire drill to plug the thing in.... thats just not cool hah.
btw im new here, we ( girlfriend and myself) have 2 cobalt ss '07, http://www.evolution2kx.com/~xnigelx/car.html <-- mine brand new so far ive only tinted it and i just ordered my stage two from gm. My girlfriend has essentially the same car but blue.

nope no a/c... unless you can go into via hp tuners and change it... but since I have no a/c in my car anyway.... It's no big deal..

and by the way I usually remove the a/c on all my cars... just for that extra little edge.. and plus ... well I can take the heat..

First off, welcome to the site (both of you)! As for the Stage 3, I'm not 100% sure, but you could disable that portion by using HPTuners. In my opinion, making your own "Stage Kit" would be the better way to go. Just get yourself a pulley, injectors, smaller belt, and a custom tune. Thats just my opinion though, I'm sure someone can get you a better answer with the Stage 3 a/c thing.

Seriously man the Stage 2 is kinda not what you are going to expect. It is a noticeable difference but for the same money or really even less you can probably put down more than what the S2 + S3 will yield. Just my .02

p.s.- in the south you gotta have a/c!!!

IT is true that you can get more power out of stage kits other than GM, but unles you have $4000 laying around to replace the motor when it blows up and GM says to your warranty, you are better off with the stage 2. I have an 06 ss/sc with GM stage 2, GM stage 3 pulley, and an AEM cold air intake and I love it. You should buy the stage 3 pulley and have them install that.

Actaully the Stage 3 isn't covered under warranty, it is for "off-road use only". You would have to go with the Stage 2 to keep the warrenty. And like said above, it will be noticeable, but you can get better performance gains for less by making your own kit, granted you will lose your warranty though. Also, I have the GMMP Performance exhaust and I love it, a lot of people have it and would agree.

I've got a 2.8 and going to install 60s as soon as they get here. A safe tune and no real radical mods you should be fine.

well as logn as the exhaust doesnt sound like a kawasiki dirt bike.. im coming from a old camaro so i love the rumble sound of a v8, obviously i cant reproduce that on a 4cly but id like to get sound similar to it.. i jsut dont want a fast and furious rice car sound.

Yea, the GMPP exhaust systems both sound nice and have gotten great reviews from members here, myself included. Sounds like you would probably like the touring better, its a little deeper than the performance one.

What I paid for mine is irrelevant. I manage a collision center and purchse over $60,000 a year in parts from Chevy alone. I got my stage 2 kit for $480. Installed for free and paid $18000 for my car out the door.
