GM stage kit question

Now that the stage kits are actually available is there any information as to how exactly they make the power. Stage 1 makes 30 hp and only 5 torque so I would assume that they are making the extra horsepower by adding RPM to the powerband. Originally the rumor was that the redline was going to be raised by about 400-450 RPM has this been confirmed, or are they making the power simply by changing the torque profile of the engine, perhaps leaning it out a bit? I for one would like to see the extra RPM I think it would be VERY helpfull to keep this car moving on the 1-2 shift when it drops out of it's powerband very briefly

Don't forget they're putting larger fuel injectors in too. Also the reflash will probably tune the engine to make better use of the stock power, get an optimum air/fuel mix and such.

Yeah I was thinking about that as well, I know they already vent extra boost as the car approaches redline because the stock injectors can't keep up. Adding the bigger injectors and not venting the boost could possibly give the 30hp but I guess I was really hoping for the extra RPM.

Beyond seeing a RPM difference other details of the re-flash will most likely never be spoken of, GM won't be telling anyone what they changed.

Due to the fact that the stock programming is very conservative when it come to peformance I would bet that all it took was a little adjustment here and there.

I doubt that the redline will be raised by 500rpm or if it will be raised at all.

One thing tat you can be sure of is that the HP numbers are just like the engine ratings which we all know by now how under rated that is.

Horsepower is great and all, but I'd like to see the TQ numbers a bit closet to the HP numbers personally.

I also doubt they will raise the rev limit.

I'd love to see more torque as well, I doubt they'll raise the rev limit as well but that's what the rumor was for a while and that would make the powerband match our transmittion a lot better!
