Why does the "Cobalt Cat-Back Exhaust System Touring 17802110" list for $589.00 and the "Cobalt Cat-Back Exhaust System Performance 17802111" list for $489.00 ???

$100.00 difference for what ?

 

Good question, I don't know why such a big differance, maybe theres a $100.00 worth of packing in the muffler. lol but that is the way GM has priced them.

 

It must be something in the muffler contruction itself . Corsa's sport and touring systems are priced differently like that too , the quieter touring being more as well .

 

I too have wondered what the differece was Touring vs Performance.

Since they are made by Borla and both use round mufflers in place of the OE resonator and muffler I would assume that the one that takes the place of the resonator would be longer on the Touring Cat-Back. But until I see one I won't know 100%.

Borla uses a straight through core wrapped with stainless steel mesh then fills the muffler with a set amount of fiber roving material.

I couldn't imagine they would charge $100 extra for more roving material.
