GMPP Clutch and LSJ Flywheel Q
GMPP Clutch and LSJ Flywheel Q
Ok so I'm a bit confused here hopefully I can get some positive input.
For anyone who has done the GMPP clutch installed on their LSJ, you have to had come across this problem.
The LSJ flywheel has 3 dowel pins for pressure plate alignment that measure 6mm diameter. However, the GMPP clutch kit pressure plate has holes for larger diameter dowel pins (~8mm) so when mating the LSJ flywheel and GMPP pressure plate, the flywheel dowel pins are too loose inside the pressure plate (hot dog down a hallway).
The reason these dowels are here is for pressure plate alignment so if they're not snug inside the pressure plate it is not aligned properly. I've read that some people just delete these dowels, doesn't sound smart because perhaps the 6 E (inverse torx) bolts holding the pressure plate to the flywheel now take the shearing force that the dowels would have.
What does everyone else do? TIA
