just got stage 2 and gmpp sport exhaust installed and when im at a high rpm the exhaust backfires.. any reason?

 

no idea what it could be. If the dealer installed it take the car back and tell them what is going on.

 

when u say "back firing", do u mean little popping noises or one big bang?

 

my corsa sport does it, when i shift into second, but it seems it only does it when its cold, i like the sound tho, so i dont bother, lol, but does it also do it when its cold and goes away? or does it always happen?

At WOT or off the throttle ? Ive never had a pop when im into the gas , only when letting off .

 

the only time i have ever heard anything is when i let off the throtte and thsts normal its just a pressure relilef

 

well it happens when the car is under heavy acceleration, i noticed it yesterday a few times from 1st into second. not off a start but getting up to speed in second i nailed the throttle and shifted into second and you could hear it pop.

also it pops and farts when im coasting in a low gear say 2nd gear 3000ish rpm, like comming to a stop light or something..

i'll drive it a bit more and see exactly when and where its happening.

 

uhh.. so you're saying it pops when you push in the clutch and go to second when you're going WOT? as stated before, that's normal.

when you're coasting in 2nd, expect to hear the noise, i promise, it isn't going anywhere. you'll learn to love it.

 

i love the sound, pushing her in first taking off, and then BOOOM!!!! when i shift to second and then WOT!! haha till 3rd and then just shift and coast and it sounds soo good!!

 

It just mean that your car like every one else's is running rich and the fuel is igniting in the exhaust.

Mine pops REALLY loud sometimes and my car is stock besides the intake.

 

I think some of you have backfiring mixed up with the noise your exhaust makes when your NOT on the gas aka the popping noise.

 

Thats not a backfire or prefire like alot of you are saying is normal . It sounds more like a misfire to me .
