if i did a 3rd gear i would be at about 285ish. my car was tuned entirely off that gear but i went with a 4th gear pull and yielded lower numbers. the official dyno list doesnt have that listed so alot of it is inaccurate
We have done dozens of dyno pulls on cars both in 3rd and 4th gears to compare and they are almost always identical!!! This has been done on our new Dyno Jet and on the Mustang dyno I use as well, so really it confuses the crap out of me why you guys claim the huge differences in numbers from 3rd and 4th gear pulls. It takes X power to turn Y Mass or (load) over a given rate of time, this is also calculated over the speed of the drum.
As for pulls in 3rd gear, we prefer them as wheel speeds in fourth can get ridiculous. For example, at the end of 3rd, alot of the tuned cobalts are hitting 180kmh w/7200 redline. Where 4th gear takes it to 240-250kmh depending on redline. With the mustang dyno in the floor, it is not as big of a deal, however the dyno jet is above floor and brings another dimension to safety.

Well wasn't very happy with the result
The first 2 pullls were on a dyno jet and read very low. On the 3rd pull he put it on the mustang and it pulled a best of 241.5hp and221.4 ft-lb.Going next time to dyno tune, will snap pics of print outs later.
