Going to be swapping my clutch...

FEW questions, ANY help is appreciated. figured it would be better to start a thread to get up to date info on my specific build/situation.

cliffnotes: will i have everything i need to do a good clutch swap or do you recommend other/different parts. i plan to tvs my car one day + other mods as well. daily driver, driven hard. occasional 1/4 mile.

ok '06 stage 2 lsj w/ 45000 miles on it. gonna be swapping my clutch this weekend. i have the gm build book to help me and a buddy who's done 10 clutches do it.

so far, i have zzp stage 1 axles, and the revised shifter bracket for the lsj. i know, not rly clutch related but swapping those out at the same time nonethless

main question: most of the time, if i'm at idle and i press in the clutch, the car stutters, the rpms drop momentarily. what could be causing this? very annoying to deal with when i'm in stop and go traffic, the car HAS died a few times because of it.

so! heres the other stuff i'm planning to get, few questions along the way

lsj clutch upgrade kit: seems like my best option for the money and driveability :edit! comes with the upgraded throwout bearing, apparently.
Ecotec LSJ Clutch Upgrade Kit 19212712

new flywheel

new clutch pipe
Cobalt Clutch Pipe 24422067

can i reuse my stock flywheel or do i need a new one/upgraded one?

and, since it was suggested, a clutch pilot tool
Ecotec Clutch Pilot Tool 14534

upgraded throw out bearing! recommended or no?
GM ACDelco - Upgraded Throwout Bearing for LSJ #GM-24242805

redline mt-90 manual trans fluid (my trans feels really notchy, i'm sure a twm kit will further solve that problem one day. anyone got a better fluid suggestion?)

thanks for any help/sugestions at all! i will be updating this thread as i go along and revise how i'm doing this, and as my q's get answered. thanks all!

I just got ZZP stage 3 in my car, went with a new flywheel so there wasn't any down time with re-surfacing. Stage 3 is overkill probably for what I'll be doing with the car. But I also did the new revised (LNF) throwout bearing, new clutch pipe and revised shifter bracket. Also did ZZP axles while I was in there.

BE CAREFUL. My brand new oem throw out bearing is leaking. I've heard of that happening to others too, and now the whole thing has to come back apart to replace it.

GMPP clutch is awesome, upgraded TOB is a must, at least resurface the flywheel.

The one thing I would NOT use is the Redline fluid. Go with the GM LNF Trans fluid.

Don't know why the throw-out bearing went. It's speculation until it gets disassembled, but I'm 99% sure that's where the leak is coming from.

I went with Redline fluid in the trans and don't notice a problem with it. Alleycat, did you have a bad experience with it?

the clutch shares the same res as your brakes. it doesnt have a separate one. as far as your other questions idk as i havent done one yet

Newp. Went back and forth and got feedback on many different people who know their ****. Honestly, the GM LNF fluid can't be beat so I didn't see a reason to go with anything else.

great to know, i wonder if this is the problem then: i need to fully bleed my brakes, could a not fully bled brake system have anything to do with idle surge when i press in the clutch from idle?
