Previous experience has taught me when you have the clutch out in neutral you hear humming. When you push the clutch peddle in, you don't hear it (while remaining in neutral). Also having issues on occassion getting it into gear smoothly

well once in a while i certainly have issues getting into reverse and sometimes 1st

That could be simple cable adjustments under the shifter.

However, in my old Sunfire, reverse would always be hesitant to get into, or grind sometime. To remedy that I just put it in 4th, then reverse. Smooth as silk every time then.

yea i always figured it was some bullshit with the linckage, our stock shifters so sloppy and notchy. hoping the revised shifter bracket helps firm that up a lil bit

It does a little. Do you still have the stock shifter or aftermarket? When I installed my Hurst I had to adjust a little more and fine tune it, but it works like a charm.

naw i'm still stock everything clutch/shifter wise. gonna go twm when i can finally find myself spending $400 on that ****... i spend less for everything in my OP list!
