good iat?
good iat?
I'm not really the best when it comes to numbers, but my engine seems to be running hot,and i have blown my engine once so i'm kinda paranoid now. right now im running the stock setup, waiting to break my engine in a little bit before i throw the tvs back on. but my engine seems really warm,i was in city traffic and there was a decent amount of idle in the driveway, but my s/c was to hot to touch more than a couple seconds. my iat was around 145 idling with the outside temp around 75,when i would get on the highway it seemed decent, right around 30 degrees warmer than outside air temp, but it just seems to hot for idling. does anyone know where the ait's should be around, compared to outside temp? currently i do have ottp h/e and dualpass,no option b though. only engine mods i have on currently is intake and exhaust.
your iat2 is going to get hot at idle there is barley any air moving across the laminovas then when you strp on the go pedal and start moving alot more air is moving across the laminovas and dropping the iat2 down at cruise speed the iat2 will run from 10 to 30 deg above ambiant outside temp
if you check your coolant flow for the sc, if it flows check for bubles in the system, if your good with no bubble, check your air filter or your exaust for a resriction. your iat2s should be about40-50 above ambient when idling more then 10 mins, if you idle for a mear 2 mins it should be above ambient by 20. Ive timed my ic pump and my iat2s with my old sc . i had a 2.6 on the m62. make sure your bypass valve is working as well
