Yeah, that's what I'm going with. Stage one and then a 2.8 pulley over the 3.0 in the stage kit.

I think i am just going to get the stage 2, installed by gm. then later pully it if needed. I doubt i will need any more power. but then again can you ever have enough

Thanx for all the updates.

For those thinking of a 2.8 pulley and smaller, i suggest some research into the limits of the M62. From what I have read the smallest pulley before maxing out the S/C is 2.85.

A 2.8 is the smallest we can go, I believe. With this size, you'd have to drive your car at over 6k RPM 50% of the time to do any damage.

At least that's what I learned over on the Redline forums.

I have a 2.85 I'm waiting to put on but I just lost my job and can't afford to buy the adjustable pulley tensioner to take up the slack in the belt.

I'll be getting the Stage 1 when it comes out hopefully.

warranty issues are the main concern... i can't afford to replace an engine, but if the stage 2 ***** it up, they have to replace it... so im not changing up anything, just getting the stage 2 and being happy.

Just A Theory.......

just a theory(with stage1): If you went with a 2.6 pulley you could probably run it and get higher boost at lower rpm thus improving your low to mid power as long as you lower your red line a little. your redline would need to be closer to 6000. you still would pick up very good top end power. what do you think?

No one is sure of that unless someone got his blower damaged.

Even though GM is going to back these kits with warrenties, I still and will always say, If you mod a car your kissing your warrenty goodbye! (Well, if your modding outside of the staged kits)
