Got a few questions

Ok, Im looking to buy my Cobalt SC in 6 months. Should already have it but thats a long story. Im looking at doing some mods to it after I get it so I need to get some info. I definately wanna get the Stage 2 as well as an intake and exhaust. Im not all that knowledgeable yet and wanna learn some stuff so what would you guys suggest for an intake and exhaust? For the exhaust, I dont want anything that sounds like a rice rocket. Also, I definately dont want to void my warranty. After installing the stage 2 is a tune necessary and can the stage 2 be done before the exhaust and intake? Feel free to recomend anything that I should get to go along with these. Thanks in advance

No tune is required after the Stage 2. When you get it installed at the dealership, they reprogram it for you...its included in the price of the Stg 2. You can put the exhaust and intake on after or before...your choice. I suggest the GMPP Performance exhaust, it will allow you to retain your warranty...to hear what it sounds like along with the touring exhaust, visit one of the sites supporting vendors, Crate Engine Depot.com

They sell almost everything you will need.

Ok since they retune it there, what tune are some of the people on this site having done after the stage 2 is installed? Does that void the warranty?

Most people are probably using HP Tuners, and yes that will void a warranty.

the gmp exhuast souns great and the AEM dryflow is the best i think. i say save ur money and go aftermarket, if u wana go for some real numbers. a aftermarket kit will give you better performance, no questions asked. GM the gm kit and flash are just not worth it at all but it all depends are serious you are about going fast

For me, going GM is worth it. I have connections to get all GM parts for less than what most people get. Same goes for labor. I know I would be able to get better numbers with aftermarket parts but that in turn would void my warranty and i cant do that.

yeah the parts arent a big deal cus u can buy them alot places for cheap but GM voides the warranty if their techs dont install them but hey if u got the connection with installing prices go for it! keeping the warranty would be really good

p.s. if they see ur aftermarket intake or exhaust, theyll void the warranty. happened to a friend which is complete bullshit

Thats a bust they voided the warranty. Ill just have to stick with GM then. What kind of gain could I expect out of GM parts, the Stage 2, intake and exhaust? I would like to get it up to 260 HP. if thats even possible without voiding the warranty

They shouldn't void the warranty with an aftermarket intake...if they did, thats a bunch of crap! There must be more to the story.

Take a look at my sig. Theres also links in there to a video of my dyno run (so you can hear the exhaust and the intake + stage2) and a scan of my HP/TQ numbers (the last line in my signature) I am making 245hp/215tq with my mods, so thats a good yardstick to use with what you are thinking of doing.

I highly suggest the GMPP exhaust and the stage 2. Intake is your call, they are all pretty much the same thing, but i like the injen because the CEL problems are minimal, and its a full intake. The AEM is also a great choice.

Stage 3 comes with a new PCU. The retune/flash is included in the price for Stage 2.

I can't even understand this mess...punctuation can do wonders...from what I can understand, you're saying your dealer won't warranty a GM stage upgrade even if they install it??? You need to find another dealer!

The exhaust system to buy that will make it sound the least like a civci with an axle back is the Corsa TOURING exhaust. Its made for a deeper sound.

Yeah dude, that dealer is full of ****. You need a new one. The GMPP Stage 2 is warranty safe as long as a dealer installs it, it does not matter where you buy it.
