finaly got the motor tore down, cylinder 4 wall is in good shape (thank god!) and we are just waiting on the stealership to get in my connecting rod bolts. im getting excited to get these diamond pistons in!! along with the pace setter header, and a few other go fast trinkets heres a pic of my friend helping work on the car

I think its really cool that you are doing all of this but really. You wont get much power out of it. Not with the supercharger. You wont get past like 280 with the diamond pistons and thats if you got the 10 to 1 ones. If not then yo are at the same power level. So all that money into the motor to get headers?
Are you going turbo?
Are you going whipple?

i got one better than the pic too! we have video of us taking apart the motor and we will keep it rolling for the assembly but i do plan on going turbo eventually. but 280whp is perfectly fine for now, thats where the nitrous comes in. but the motor did go, so i didnt see the point in going back to stock when i already had it apart.

they are 10:1, i got real lucky too, there was no cylinderwall damage. we will be tossing in the new pistons this weekend, i have to wait for some stuff to get back from the powder coater, and my connecting rod bolts to come in also. when i get home ill post more pics just a hint... did you know the stock heatshield can be used as a bra?

 

How did this build go? I thought I remembered reading a while back that bringing the compression that high made it a tuning nightmare, any truth to that? What kind of gains did you see? This post was from 5 months ago, so I'm guessing you've probably been driving it for a while now. Update!
