so i was at a staff party tonight, and it turns out my boss has a 6.1 425 hp. we were talking about our cars adn teh subjecy came up about his car being the faster than all teh employees cars. so i told him with my planned mods i could give him a good run during the summer witht eh other employees watching. 40 role!

mods:300c srt-8 stock

ss/sc: cti 3" dp, vortex 3" hd, magnaflow 3" exhaust, injen intake, dual pass h/e, 60/40 meth injection, ls4 tb spacer, ottp stage 1 (2.7 inch pulley) 235 tires, all parts tuned as a whole(agressive tune). rfotated tranny mounts.

now i have 2 srt-8 40 roles lined up for summer, and i made my final decision about the parts. like i said before i dont want to lose!

 

they are quick. 12's can happen stock. it could be close.

 

from a roll you may have a chance. they're auto's aren't they?

 

the other employees saw him burn an mr2 with 3 passengers, so they think he's gonna take me from a roll, i really dont know... i figure he has over 1000lbs extra weight, and traction wont be an issue for me from that speed...

does anyone have any experience racing srt-8s, if so what are your mods?

 

I talked to a guy at the track last time i was there that made 3 passes all in the very low 13's and he would even tell you he had no idea what he was doing and the car was bone stock.

It will be close but from a 40 roll i think you should get him, Not by much at all though

You do know your car wont do 170mph right? These cars are limited at 158mph

It cant be done as far as i know.

Its done so you dont explode you tires at 180 and kill yourself (not that your car will do 180 anyway)

Also im not sure exactly how it works i just know you will get to 158 and thats it, Wont go any faster nomatter how much power you have.

Do you realize how fast 160mph is? I really dont see why you would want to go any faster.

Also im sure the srt-8 is limited to, Just dont know what, Probably close to the ss/sc

 

160 is the stock limiter.

155 on the SRT-8 I believe...

And just because the speedo says that does not mean you are going that fast...

Doesn't matter, OP is lucky to have 300 to the wheels...vs something that has more than 300 to the wheels

It comes down to hp in a roll race...for the most part anyways

 

alright, makes sense, i know the srt-8 will reach 170 without a limiter, i guess my cobalt cant't and yes i know how fast 160 is, very, very fast, i was taken to 200 in my friend's skyline...

 

You have to be talking km/h not mph.

200mph = 322km/h
200 km/h = 124.3mph
170km/h = 105.6


And your limiter is 257.5 km/h which = 160mph

Most people havent been over 120 or 130, Some 140 or 150, Few have been faster.

I have been to 147mph and **** was scary

you are doing a 43 to 105, If your doing a 70kph to 270 kph

 

no i know, the srt-8 can reach 170 mph, thats been proven in tests, and ye si was in the skyline at 320 kph, or 200 mph, he was racing a bike, not sure which one, but he won. i was in the passenger eat, trying not to think of how my life might end momentarily... lol

 

I have buried the speedo in my car, and have topped out the bike...

It is ridiculous when you stop and realize HOW much distance you have covered in that amount of time.

The new Challenger can do 173...on a high speed oval...

My 147mph was on the back of a GSXR 600 when i bet my brother he couldnt scare me on it, Nailed it in first, front wheel came up, Stayed up i dont even know how long lol and when i got the guts to look over his shoulder i seen 147mph and everything was starting to blur

 

147 is like the end of 4th.
