HARROP Supercharger
HARROP Supercharger
I was just wondering if anybody had any info on Harrop's SC? How much more power(stock), is it Reliable, and is it worth the money just to move an xtra .3 ltrs of air? Im interested in getting this, but cand find enough info on how it makes the car respond?
no one here has done that yet, you should buy one and test it for us
Dude there's a ton of TVS threads on here. Just do a search onTVS FAQ. I can bet at least 90% of the questions you have will be answered there. ANd search TVS Dyno Thread. Thats got a lot as far as power goes with different setups.
Personally I have the TVS with a 2.9" pulley, 80's, intake, full exhaust and a h/e and I put down 303whp/265 wtq

No offense but you got railed.
I love the 370z, it's a sexy car to be sure. While trying to find some pictures of your car I ran across the statement that you're dealing out 60,000$ for it.. You should have went with a C6Z06 if you wanted a two seater for that kind of money.. damn. :- /

Either way im happy with my choice....Cobalt Supercharged with a TVS to a 370z. Even though the tune with the TVS was still needed to be worked on abit...i was making the same power that im making with my 370 with intakes plus now my engine can with stand a 100shot of nitrous.
Well lets see.. if you like the cobalt, and wanna be faster. Ya know like most people on this site that dont have 40K sitting in the corner. Yes, A TVS is awesome. Many people have it on there cobalt.
I will someday.

i am paying abit more then a few people here in edmonton, but what you dont know, or do know but dont realise, thats $60,000 cdn...not US. And also just over $5000 of that was the remaining balance from the cobalt i traded in. Also $60k is what its costing me over 72 months (interest included) If you take away the interest and remaining balance of the cobalt, its around $40k im paying for the car. People keep saying "oh you could have went with this or why didnt you get this?" the answer is, i always wanted a 350z and twin turbo it. But never could afford it. Now im making a **** load of money in the army, the 370z are out and i can twin turbo that.

nice car regardless.....
The TVS topic
All i know is when it hit the cobalt market, like any new part all these kids bought them...and most got rid of it.
My 2 cents... I used to think the TVS was a waste of money and I was seeing peoples numbers on it being lower than what I put out on the m62. After seeing how you hit a brick wall with the m62 at around 290 I started to think different. Yes its a lot of money which is why we drive the cars we do but to get a safe 300+ on these cars the m62 has got to go. I really wanted to go turbo but it was a lot of work, so I got a good deal on a tvs and I will see if its worth it or not. Ive spent well over the price of what I paid for the tvs getting where I am now. If I could rewind and do it again I would put a turbo on it and be done. With e85 I feel as if the tvs is worth the money now.

Search my thread. It's not a worthless mod. ****, for the cost of bolt-ons that MAYBE add 20hp you can get a nice jump in hp and trq.
I ran my friend's '06 cobalt ss/sc (2.8/60's/i/he) vs my TVS 3.1pulley/full 3" intake and exhaust/midlength header/catless dp/he/ported head/E85. I left him like he is standing still. Yes, he was WOT too. Quick 40-100 sprint

Theres almost always gonna be something that makes more HP then something else.
a 25K civic SI is crap becouse its slower then a cobalt?
New civics are crap, looks like a ****** door wedge. Im just saying for 2200 bucks its not worth it.
Anything that is capable of 300whp without meth or e-85 is not a waste in my book.
Some people go TVS for the reliability, ease of install, and ease of tuning factor. If that is your angle then it is totally worth it.
Yeah $2200 can be a tough pill to swallow depending on your situation, but if its within your means and power goals there is no better alternative if you want to stay supercharged.
If you are set on going for *****-out power, then you should already know turbo is the best way to get there.

you are just looking at peak numbers. the area under the curve demolishes 90% of the turbo setups on here. majority of the people want to make a number. i want a ******* powerband.

I totally understard where your coming from with wanting the powerband and not just peak numbers. I gotta look at ur dyno sheet again really quick. But why not have an amazing powerband, and an abundance of top end. Twincharge all the way.
