Have some CELs?
So today i hooked up the car to read my codes and i had two one was a large evap leak that i cant seem to find at all and the second was random misfire....so i had my buddy check the car out and when i first start it is when i get all the misfires...it got up to 8 misfires when first started then when it idles there was none...anyone have some thoughts on this?
possibility the large leak is causing the miss fires.. my experience this last week was the purge solenoid was leaking, causing either a large leak or a high flow through purge codes, and random miss fires.
check your purge solenoid located on the top of the engine, near the boost control solenoid. 2 plastic lines go to it. take it off, if you can blow through the "black" side its stuck open and leaking..
also very common on these cars, is the vent solenoid, its located in the block box (charcoal canister) at the rear of the vehicle, near the gas tank. its sits right in the middle of the charcoal canister. unplug it and twist to remove it. its exposed to the elements so its common for it to go bad.
the easiest way to find evap leaks is to use a smoke machine and a scan tool..
