head gasket thickness

im trying to determine the best headgasket to go with for the engine build im working on. cometic makes an lsj gasket thats .027", and various 2.2l gaskets.

does anyone know the thickness of a stock gm lsj head gasket??? i know the 2.2 is .021", not sure on the lnf or 2.4l. any info would help

ok the stock gm headgasket is very thin. if you go with the cometic head gasket its like the stock ones all together and is alot stonger because its better metal than stock.

i agree with you, but thats not what im looking for. im wondering what the thickness of the stock lsj gasket is.

Stock LSJ is .027 and the stock 2.2L .040. The info is right on Cometic's site if you want to look further into it. I have a 2.2L one on my car since the 2.0L one wasn't available at the time so I lowered my compression a little in the process.

I measured mine after removal to .028" compressed if it helps any.
