Head Question

So my girl wants to....just kidding.

I am removing a 2.0 lsj head and I am wondering how to get the 2 bolts on the side of the head off. I was told I need an inverted #8 torx bit is this true? If so, does anyone know where I can find one? I checked autozone/walmart and they didn't have it, fail. Would it be called something else? I bought a torx bit set with a t8 in it but the bit will not remove from the socket =/

Too bad you don't have international calling. lol

You talking about these two bolts?

You need a torx socket set, not a bit set.

Yaaaaa there we go that works! Thanks guys.

I generally don't do a lot of wrenching because of my back and stuff so this is all knew to me. Those are the bolts so thanks. The ******* at walmart said the torx bit's would come out of the sockets so I could use the socket ontop of that bolt....he lied lol, they stay IN the socket for sure.

So just to make sure it would be either JUST a #8 Torx Socket, or the entire set that includes a number 8.

One last question, does anyone know what size wrench is used to take off that big plug on the side? I know that was SO detailed but you guys probably know what im talking about lol. The only Huge ass bolt on the outside of the head that a wrench would go on, what size is it?

you need the #8 torx socket for those bolts and a #10 metric allen wrench for that big ass bolt.

you need to go to a tool store. harbor freight would be the cheap route. but, snap=on, matco, or cornwell would also be able to get you a single inverted torx pretty cheap.
