header wrap

i just got the zzp header downpipe combo and was wondering since heat is the biggest killer in our vehicles would it be beneficial for me to wrap the header before i put it in the car. the wrap is cheap and i know its used to keep heat out of the engine bay and the old hotrod guys used to do it all the time. just wondering if anyone has tried it or sees any reason not to try it?

Header wrap deteriorates headers over time...
Get a ceramic coated header instead.
