johnny b... so you just wedged the negative wire inbetween the relay and the fuse box? you just jammed it down there?

have you thrown any CELs?

what happens if you turn the switch on when the car is on?

i guess im still kind of confused...

Any way i can have these wires permanantly connected... so i can daily drive it normally...

get out of my car, flip the switch to turn the fans on and the intercooler pump on.

Then a little bit later, hop in the car, turn off the switch and drive away with a much cooler motor...

also, if i am in traffic... just flip the switch to turn the fans on???

Can i do all that and not mess anything up? (ie flipping the switch while the car is on already.. will that mess up the IC pump??)

Thanks for your help guys. I think I will just rig something up and leave the switch under the hood so I don't have to run wires anywhere just for the track day. I will take a jumper pack along too, might just hook it up while I leave the fans on for the batterys sake. I could just run the wires into it instead ha ha, never thought of that.

1) yes i wedged the wire in there(18 gauge is thin wire)
2) no, and i hope i dont
3) the switch will already be on when the car is on, b/c of the h/e pump kicks on.

Well i did this mod today... Johnny B's way..

i must say.. the car never reached 180*F while cruising... it was always 178*F or below.

The fans are always on when the car is started, and you can control it while it is off

One good thing i noticed was.....

I got the car up to 180* sitting in my driveway... the AC was off and it did not go above 180* even while sitting there for 5 minutes.

I turned the car off and flipped the fan/intercooler switch

I went inside and took a 10 minute shower.

Came back out and started the car... the temps were at 160*

Not bad at all for sitting for only 10 minutes

you need an interceptor.
your IAT2 temp is where youll see the big results....
and gain the most power.

well your intercooler pump is goin right? so your intake temps are whats gonna be affected....
thats where we lose all our power anyway, heatsoaking from the blower.
your coolant pump would have to be going to get the benefit in your engine coolant temps

glad to hear that it worked well for ya.

ps the water pump does NOT have to been on to benefit... if the fans are ON, then start the car the coolant in the radiator will be cooler than just sitting in the radiator. so when the car warms up and the thermostat opens cooler coolant will be pumped into the motor = cooler motor (which is great for the track)...

so when you rig this up, if the car is running and the switch is OFF, the fans are still on? even if the AC isnt on?

yah i understand that.
but the IAT2 is gonna see the most benefit because it has coolant flowing.

IF you were to get the engine coolant flowing too.....that would really drop the coolant temps.

Actually the CAC pump run is VERY important during hot soak. This allows the Laminova cores in the intake manifold to be significantly cooled. Eventually the entire intake acts as a big heat sink for the supercharger and IT gets cooler too!

Fans+Pump@engine OFF=best results

i was talk'n about the water pump for the motor, which is belt driven i believe. the way i was talking about is the ic pump for the h/e... im uploaded a video now.... maybe then we can all be on the same page.

ps i dont know what a CAC pump is, is that the ic pump. if your talking about the pump for the motor that wouldnt work bc that thermostat would close when temps get below 180
