Heat Exhanger Questions ...
I was curious to know how people with upgraded heat exchanger (CA, Cobra, etc.) have them run. Do you take out your stock heat exchanger?
I am wondering this becuase I put a stage 4 CA kit on my buddy's 06 ss/sc with a front mounth cobalt addiction heat exchanger and I ran the through the stock heat exchanger ... but now when the car is sitting and idling it heat soaks to about 196F and the fans kick on. I was just wondering if it was normal for a 2.6 pulley and the heat exchanger with the factory one in it also to run this high?

please understand that the coolant temp reading is a completely different system than the supercharger cooling system. The reading on your panel is worthless. No one takes out the stock h/e, we always run them in sync.
I am very aware of tha the coolant temp on the dash is for the engine coolant temperature, not the super charger temp. I was just wondering how many people ran them and I kinda figured is was in sync with the stock one.
My question is this, is 196F a decent temp after driving while sitting in traffic? Because thats where I am at right now with a 2.6 pulley.

196 sounds fine. the normal operating temp as far as i know is 180-182, at least thats where mine stays. i know there have been some hot nights at the track and the fan can't always keep up, i've seen 225, but it doesn't happen often. 196 in traffic is fairly normal.
