The stage two KIT has 42lb injectors and a shorter belt and differnet tuning. I wouldnt run the pulley with out the rest of the stuff to support it unless you like broken parts.

Items needed
1 Stage 2 belt or different tensioner pulley (belt is easier to do)
2 42 lb injectors
3 PCM tuning

i remember reading a long long time ago back on css dot com
that if you throw a smaller pully on there along with a manual boost controller and keep it at stock boost that you can get some pretty good gains. not necessarily in over all HP but you get the power alot sooner
i read that like 5 years ago tho

please inform us why you think running a Stage 2 pulley WITHOUT the other stage 2 parts is a good idea?

might possibly mess some stuff up..... might..... but, I don't think there would be that much of a gain, because the car would not have a tuned ecu therefore would not see the new mass of incoming air. Most likely run lean as well.

I may not be the smartest guy around here, but there's probably 5 posts on top of yours saying not to do it.

Sit back, and read some before you start telling other new guys to do **** to their cars that will end up with them blown up.

might? I think its a given that it will. The stock tune and injectors arent designed to run a pulley that small.

what the heck does dropping a pulley size have to do with valve float?

general look, most cars have a bit of valve float naturally. Idk why karlen thinks he knows everything. a lsj is just like every other engine out there...you think mechanics look at it and go "ohh its a sc lsj chevy cobalt, Im going to have to go get some extra schooling before I can diagnose this car".. ya, no, all engines are the same. just because a punk kid (not going to mention anyones name) can climb under a car and put some little mods on it, doesn't mean he's an expert. thanks., and to end this thread and help a brother out. DO NOT PUT ON THAT SMALLER PULLEY.

thanks karlen89 your a real hero.
