Help!

Installed my Aeroforce Interceptor gage today. Whenever the gage is plugged into the diagnostic port and operating the factory gages (speedo, tach, and fuel) go dead. Anyone else using the Interceptor have this problem??

You should contact the vendor you bought it from, or contact the manufacturer.

I'm not sure if anyone else has had this problem.

Talked to the manufacturer. Luckily they are only about 20 minutes away. Looks like there could be a compatibility problem with the gauge and 06 model year Cobalts. I'll be heading out there tomorrow to try another gauge to be sure.

So if you have an 06 and were thinking about ordering this product...wait. I'll keep you-all informed.

I've got an 05 and no problems, Can't believe that they would have different wiring for 06

Aeroforce can't believe it either! They seem to think the wiring is the same but the PCM programming was changed.

I have volunteered to let them test software revisions for the gauge on my car.

As far as Aeroforce knows I'm the first 06 Cobalt. They do know people who successfully installed the gauge in an 06 Ion.

Well this looks more like an internal fault in the Interceptor or mis-wire of the units DLC connection to me. When you connect the Interceptor, the IPC goes "down" because it must be affecting the Low Speed GMLan because that's the network the cluster is on (the LSJ Cobalt has 3 "bridged" networks) The LSJ PCM is actually on BOTH High Speed GMLan AND Class 2 (J1850) networks but the Interceptor is a Class 2 device. So if plugging in the Interceptor is knocking down the LS GMLan (when it and the PCM dont even connect to it) then sounds to me like there's a hardware or wiring fault.
So I doubt programming/software alone could knock out the LS GMLan to the IPC.
Did they offer to have you try another unit??

My car and I will be in AeroForce's shop tomorrow morning to investigate the problem. Just glad they are local.
