HELP cold air problem

Exclamation HELP cold air problem

hey just installed my ebay CAI and i was wondering if anyone else was having the same problems i was with the same intake or another even. the car sounds awesome and there is noticable difference in power, sounds all good i know, but in 2nd and 3rd gear, when i hit 5000rpm its like im hitting my rev limiter. not in first gear, that runs out fine, and i dont often get to 5k in 4th or 5th gear. but in 2nd and 3rd at 5k it stutters and bounces like i hit the limiter only its a little slower of a bounce. very weird and i am very paranoid, lol. there are no check engne lights yet but i had it out running for a good 25minutes. also, i didnt cut the end of the pipe like i read in othe threads, dont know if that could be it or not. any help or suggestions would be very appreciated thanks

did you unplug the battery when you installed?

did you use a quality filter on the end? or the junk that it came with?

didnt have a problem with mine but i did cut the end of the pipe and am using a k$N i had laying around. I would check your code and go from there, could be something dumb like a lose conection on the pipe or maf. or maby you shoud try cutting the pipe and see if its anybetter.

this stupid intake has been pissing me off, i just ordered the K&N and im giving up on the ebay one. my friend is a gm mechanic and he's gonna check out the code and clear it for me, but im just gonna get a decent CAI. the whole 5000rpm limit **** is pissing me off to no end, im just figuring its the awful fit of the CAI, the MAF is on a totally different angle than in stock config and that is what im basing the issues on. i could still just cut the end of the intake and see what happens there, but then i have to get the bf involved, then he has to know that im spending more money to hook up my car, and he already knows that my car gets all the attention

its on pretty good, the fit originally sucked, but my bf came up with the idea of using washers on the head side of the bolts, so its definately on there good
