YES!!! anytime you get a little bit of rumble out of a 4 cylinder is a good thing, resonators kind help with that as well as cleaning the sound of the exhaust up.

Try small diameter resonator (inner pipe) pipe. If you have 2.5" pipe, go for 2.0" pipe. It will decrease your sound and drone sound of resonance.

won't that also restrict the flow like crazy though? that would totaly defeat the point.

I am planning on just going to the local muffler shop and getting them to put a 3" reversed glasspack right after the existing resonator

You could try installing CC inserts inline before the resonator to help with your excessive exhaust noise. Look them up, they sell them in the Jeg's catalog as well. Hot-roders having been using them for years in custom applications where clearance issues are resolved only by using these inline systems. They supposedly claim an increase in flow too. I have a Corsa sport exhaust and installed (tack welded) one of these in the resonator to soften the pitch and catch all those unwanted hick-ups and farts when off-idle; it sounds great! Gets rid of all the raspiness and unwanted rice sounds. Good luck.
