In other words: is it something only a dealer can do? Is it expensive? Is it a type of tuning I guess?

The vehicle should be drivable without the relearn, the pcm would have very conservative settings like spark timing until it has the relearn to bring it to life. But your car sounds like something is amiss?

It could be as much as $80, but I have heard of dealers doing it for free.

HP tuners software is capable of doing the relearn if you or someone near you has access to it that will get you out of the dealership. But the car has to idle in fact I believe that they have to raise the idle to 4k. Does your Cobalt idle? and can you raise the idle to 4k?

i would find it very hard to believe a case relearn issue would be causing this.....

try putting your old injectors back in and see if it runs, also try putting your old pcm back in. Just try one thing at a time until u isolate the problem

I'm telling you guys it's not the case relearn making the car not driveable. Mine ran awesome for the day When I installed my new PCM. It just threw a code for "crankcase variation not learned".
It's definatly something else in the kit that went wrong.

OBD scanner is good to have for retreaving codes but it's not going to be able to do the crank relearn.

P0315 won't affect the driveability of your car. Its definatly the P0118 code that is messing with it. Maybe it's the sensor itself.

Well after I cleared the codes the car dropped the limp mode and will now let me drive it. I'm just afraid to. The idle is still a tad choppy but nothing like it was. Before the whole motor was jarring around. Now the idle just studders a bit. The car also won't read the coolant temps. Other than that it's good.

Agreed. I'm close to getting this resolved. Just needs a little more and I'll be back to driving my baby again.

sir you need a case relearn. im having the exact same issues as you and throwing code 315 as well and i just installed ottp stg2. and 06supersportchevy, just bc your car didnt do it doesnt mean his isnt. some cars need a relearn and some dont as no to crank sensors are alike however some match enough while most dont. take the car to a dealer to get a relearn but dont delete your tune and this should fix your problem. hope this helps

its the case relearn just find someone with HPT near you an they don't even need to unlock your car to do it...or if you have an interceptor i believe you can do a case relearn with it too

mine did need it... I just stated that my car ran fine while it was throwing that code. And ran the exact same after it went through a relearn. It literally ran awesome before and after.

an interceptor will not perform this. you either need hptuners or tech2.

i have the same kit as you. i had throttle body issues after i installed the kit. so, try this, unplug the battery, then unplug the throttle body, then unplug the sensor down at the gas pedal in the car itself. let it sit for about 15mins or so. then plug both sensors back in and hook your battery back up. see if that helps! fixed my problems. now i just need a tune bc the zzp one sucks. so get used to the erratic idle!
