Help im squeaking!!!

So my car is squeaking like a *****.

We worked on my car yesterday and it seems when we put the belt back on we failed to put the bottom part of the belt on all the way correct and its not on fully so it squeaks a lot.

We used a 14mm wrench shaved a lil bigger to get the tensioner pushed back. But i cant make it to his place and the shaving is taking forevvver on this.

is there an easier tool that i could use other than the actual tensioner tool??

word of advise. when it comes to things like belts or anything else important its a good idea to use the correct tool. and have you tried using a ratchet on it. i've only ever had to use wrenches to release the tension on the tensioners

well all you have to do is release the tension enough to move it. now remember you want to have as long of a handle as possible as it makes it much easier to move the tensioner. it's sometimes easier with 2 people on some cars but with ours, there isn't a whole lot of room.

I know pulleyboys has a belt tension release tool that works really well. Using a wrench sucks and is almost impossible.

go to the pawn shop and find what you need and if that doesnt work go to autozone and ask for the tool you need and they usually loan out special tools like that. if that doesnt work go to your gm dealer and sweet talk the lady at the desk for the "coolest" mechanic they have and see if he can help you. dont talk money to anyone just ask if you can go back and talk to the mech and more than likely he should help you and if he doesnt find someone that will. dont ever pay for something that can be fixed by you.

the belt is misaligned on one of the lower pulleys. noneed to shave a wrench get and open end one that fits (15mm i think) steady pressure back to the rear of the a car on the tensioner relieves the tension; then put the belt back on correctly so it runs in all the grooves on all pullies....good luck

That's pretty bad dude...did you shred the belt? Take the stage 2 pulley off with the belt on (slide it off) and reguide the belt then do the reverse with someone working the tensioner to get it back on (make sure the bolt holes are lined up).

Yeah the pulley boys tensioner tool pays dividends...unless you over extend it and your tensioner sticks (which means you're fuc*ed and have to tow it to the dealership to get fixed) Yeah...I'm THAT guy.

I just use a 15mm wrench.... the trick is to be at least .... 180 lbs and put your weight ontop of it and then push!
