thanks alot for the help
CHEAP senser mod AKA a .40 cent rsistor will not work on this car. And should not be used on any car. It gives no gain at all as the PCM corrects for this after about 10 sec.
Wait till the end of the month and get a stage 2 kit from the dealer.

You don't have to listen to me. But the stock valve springs are "done" at 6800 rpm's, according to a very reliable source. I did read somewhere that the stage 2 might raise it to 6700 rpm's, but that won't do much. Again, you don't have to take my word for it, wait and see.

You can't compare an NA car to a Forced Induction car. The pressure on the valves and springs is higher in the SC car vs the NA car so the lack of valvespring pressure will be more apparant in the sc application. Now add smaller pullys and the higer boost pressure and you make the springs even more of an issue. Think about it for a minute The valvespring has to "pull" the valve closed against the positive pressure that is constantlt trying to open it! Common sense!

I heard that it was only done at that RPM when using a big cam. And if you look at the dyno posted of the stage kits from GM, the redline goes to 7000 rpm. Also, I heard that the solstice uses the same springs, and goes to 7000 rpms, although with a different cam.

And , furthermore ....GMMP would not raise the rev limit if the springs could not take it . They would have done a completely overkill durability cycle test . Since the kits are warrantied , it would be absolute suicide to GM to raise the limiter on all these cars and have them return limping into the service bay with a broken valvespring . Their legal dept. never woulda let it happen

It comes with both stages. It's pretty much "updated" information in your computer chip (from what my brain seems to think). Like a computer, going from windows 98 to xp. XP will have better performance, more options, easier to use, etc. The reflash will dump more fuel into the engine thus allowing us to make more boost and horsepower safely.
