help with resonator

I know there are a few threads on this but none answer my question. I have the obnoxiously loud vibrant cb. I want to tone it down ever so slightly to reduce the raspiness. I am thinking of putting in a 18 inch vibrant resonator, but my question is do i eliminate the small resonator already there, or just add the 18 incher to it. It is tight and im not sure if both will fit.
