help with shifting
hey everyone i'm new here i just got a black cobalt ss s/c and i love it. I wonder if you guys could help me out, i'm new to the whole driving stick, i'm not horrible, but when i race, i suck so bad, i've been hearing stuff on launching around 2000 rpms and stuff, but could you guys help me out, like what exatcly should i do to get a good run in. Thanks guys
Well you should rev to 6,000 and dump the clutch.
No not really. You need to drive the car and get use to it before you go racin'. The cars are very touchy and even more touchy with the upgrades cluctches. Most I've heard people let the cars bog a little off the line and to keep from getting the wheel hop and spin. The best thing to do is just drive it and practice your launches in a isolated area.
just dont try too hard not to get wheel hop or its gonna effect your launches... when you get used to the clutch you wont even think about it, just comes natural. Just brake the car in. if its pretty new, you should wait 1-2 thousand miles before pushin your car to the limit.
