Help with upgrades.
Okay so ive had my '06 SS/SC for a year now and am ready to start modding this bitch. first things i wanna do is header, exhaust and intake. i want the car to sound mean but not scream like a bitch when im passing ppl on the street. so if anyone would like to help me out from what you have seen or heard that would be great. thanks.
exhaust right now im running vibrant header/dp, megan muffler, injen cai,2.9 pulley, 42# injectors, street tuned hptuned. i love how the supercharger screams and my exhaust is mean sounding not ricer but if u dont like it loud dont get my combo.
Here is my FAQ on exhausts.. lots o info...

what do i do to get a good tune. i live in nc. and what is 60s, 2.8? i guess the 2.8 is the pulley. what are your ideas on what type of h/e and intake i should get. and where can i get all this ****.
60's is 60# injectors and for h/e i would say the ottp h/e or zzp h/e and intake i say injen
cool. now where can i go and get all of this i wanna go ahead and start ordering some **** and im just gonna leave it in my room until i have everything i want and then just put them all on at once. but im ready to start pricing and ordering.

AEM Gauge

Aeroforce

the stock exhaust isnt very restrictive. so spend money elsewhere. so far the stock header dyno'd the most power out of all the aftermarket header. if anything just get a dp with a high flow cat or catless and do 2.5" axle-back exhaust all together thats like 400
I highly recommend the ottp stage 1 kit, an aeroforce interceptor gauge and an aem wideband gauge. Also it would be a great idea to get a custom tune from someone in your area or from me cough. The tune is one of the most important things you can do for your car. I have seen tunes make and break good cars. Also remember that these cars heat soak extremely bad so cooling mods are very very important. Read up on methanol injection, dual pass end plate with option b and heat exchangers.
I am assuming your talking about the methanol injection and or cooling mods? Methanol injection is used to cool the intake charge down and to help with detonation. The water cools the intake charge down, while the methanol has a very high octane rating so this helps with suppressing detonation. Basically makes it like your running race gas. When tuned for this you can see huge gains. In general though these cars, cobalts/redlines/anything with the m62 heat up extremely quick. When the air gets very hot the ecu starts to pull timing. When the ecu retards the timing you lose horsepower. So basically you need to get cooling mods so that the ecu will not retard the timing, and if anything allow you to increase the timing drastically. Hopefully this helps.
