Does rim size have an effect on dyno results? What about tire profile, does it play a part also?

Just curious.

rim size will only play a part in a top speed trap if the tires bigger then OEM.

I.E A bigger tire/rim combo will negate any HP add ons by 3% or less but offer better top end over acceleration.

In reality I doubt you will see a big difference in loss of power with a bigger rim unless your going over 3 inches over stock. That's just me.

Sweet answer. Thank you. It's just a curious question to throw out there just to see the responses I get.

Thanks again for taking the time to answer.

Hes right, I could see a little difference considering wheel weight but very little it wouldnt be noticeable.

Bigger rims may hurt your accel numbers due to the extra rotating mass, but that's not what the dyno measures. You should see no change on chart.

it's not so much that bigger rims might hurt you, it's heavier rims that will hurt you on a dyno. ( most cases a bigger rims is heavier, I just wanted to straight that out tho )

What about rim that is same as stock, but wider by say half an inch to inch and a half?
