Angry Hesitation in 2nd gear!!!!

I am trying to figure out what to do here...I have a stock 06 SS/SC with 4000 miles on it and have had a hesitation in the low end of 2nd gear....when I shift from 1st to second and get on it, the car seems to stumble until about 3000-3500 rpm and then it smooths out and runs smooth...It drives me nuts...Once it is past that rpm range it pulls pretty hard. Any suggestions on what to do to correct this problem? Other than and the cheap rotors, I love the car....All suggestions are appreciated, let me know!!!!

Thanks,
Clay

What you have is the glitch in the earlier software version. Tell the dealer you have issues and ask for the latest software for the computer.

Bro all you have to do is go to a dealership and get the updated reflash. It will work wonders.

It could also be a catalytic converter problem.

Stock CATs are known for cloging up.

Any fart smells or weird smells in the cabin?

No weird smells at all. Just frustrates me more that the new update should have fixed the problem and it made it worse!!!!

Could it possibly be the spark plugs fouling out? I did run regular unleaded in it when I first purchased it and have been running premium for the last 2000-2500 miles or so

It could be the plugs. Can't hurt to replace them. It's cheap and easy.

I get hesitations high up in the RPM's. Weird and then it begins to pull harder then before.

i have hesitation at the bottom of 2nd right after shifting from first...only when the car isn't warmed up. its really annoying. i should have the newest software as well.

how often would you smell the cat if it was going bad

Everytime you get the car up to running temperature.

Even with the software update, when you shift from 1st to 2nd while driving hard, it can drop you below the point where the cars powerband starts at ~3 to 3.5k rpms. That can cause a hickup where you geared torque takes a massive hit (more strain on the engine) at the same time as the engine is trying to get back up to prime range. You wouldn't notice it at all in 1st because 1st is geared so short it makes *TOO MUCH* power. So going from that massive power to a weakpoint in the powerband where the engine is struggling will do it to you.

Try shifting a little closer to redline when your getting on it. Thats one of the advantages of the GM stage kits or a custom tune. That 7k redline lets your rpms not drop below the powerband when you make the 1-2 shift. A slightly longer 1st would have been better, but oh well.

Yeah guys dont just hop in the car and get. I know we all like to rush but these cars need time to heat up. When I let mine sit for about 5 minutes before I go to work in the morning I dont have the hesitation. I used to when I would just turn on the car and leave.

hey man maybe it is your cold air intake. I heard they cause the car to lean out a bit under ceretian conditions. Anothere thing I heard is the maf gets an oil film on the hotwire. Is you air filter sprayed with oil like the K&N. if it is you can clean the maf just make sure the power is off (key not in run) take the air filter off and spray the sensor hotwires off with some air intake cleaner, blow it off or just let it dry It dries pretty fast.Put it back together and give it a try.Let me know if this works, I had this problem on my Envoy it had a bad bog and this fixted it.It was worse when it was warmed up.
