I've had both, the BOV before the MAF and after.

For about a year and a half I ran the VTA after the MAF, and while it rich spiked it wasn't any big deal. Although one day, it decided to just keep throwing the car into limp mode and CEL p0101 would come up.

Once I relocated the MAF. it all went away.

so if you want to do it right, relocate the MAF. Or run the risk of going into limp mode each time it blows off.

 

It is best to do it right the way I said.
