Hollowed out cat?

Hey guys, I want to point out that I did use the search function before creating this topic and came up with nothing.

Anyways, a couple days ago, I began to suspect that my catalytic converter is going bad. almost every time I get on the gas now it starts to smell like rotten eggs, and at idle, it almost has a "bleachy" smell to the exhaust. No CEL, running just fine. And my boost isn't any higher than normal. Actually, IT DROPPED. So I'm thinking that I am blowing chunks of my cat out of my exhaust. So what I want to do is hollow out my catalytic converter if this is the problem.

I am just wondering on the best method to do so.

Also, I know that the catalytic converters were recalled on the SS/SC's, but I don't want to get it replaced lol.

Take said downpipe off car.

Find long metal pole/rod (rebar works great), and hammer the remaining material out.

Don't have money for a new DP at the moment.

They don't do emissions testing up here.

I want to keep the appearance that I have a cat on there just in case a cop pulls me over for exhaust.
