Honest opinions on Hahn Catback LSJ

Ok a little background... I have spent a ton of bux on trying to get the exhaust to sound decent.

I have had

Stock catback/catless/Cobalt addition header-cracked in half ...no good

ZZP Midlength1.75 w 3" DP catted and catless/custom 2.5" exhaust with magnaflow mufflers...sounded decent but lots of exhaust leaks with the ZZP and became very buzzy after time...damn glaspacks dont last when you can pop flames!

I bought a custom header from Clear Image Automotive with 2 downpipes that i could switch from catted to catless when needed, they even hooked it up with VBand clamps like turbos usually run

I had 3" cat back with even longer and fatter magnaflow mufflers, but still buzzed like hell, and again became hollow over time.

Current setup
I like my CIA header and DP but on a whim and trying to stop the buzz i put a Flowmaster Delta flow 60 series, even went back to have them put an additional glasspack but its still loud and buzzy

How is the Hahn 3" Catback?
I want it nice and smooth, a little quieter than what it is now, can anyone give me advice?

Opinions..?

the hahn is a nice low tone, but alot of TC guys bought it, the sold it cuz its so quiet.

try a magnaflow race muffler. thats what i have. idk how it would sound on a SC though
all 3 inch

I have the JBP header, hahn downpipe w/ cat and the 3" cat back.
I love it!!! The fiance didnt even notice it when we were driving around, just slightly louder than stock when your easy on the throttle. When you get on it though, there is no mistaking you have full 3" exhaust as it really opens up. It is a subtle yet throaty sound everywhere other than WOT. I highly recomend it.

I too am thinking the Hahn is the only 3 inch option the LSJ's have. I would like to hear one in person tho and on an LSJ not an LNF.

i have the hahn on my lsj. i have zzp 1/34 to zzp 3" catless dp. the exhaust sounds great most of the time. around 4000rpm when im just cruising in part throttle it starts to get pretty raspy. but then again i usually shift before 4k anyways.

i get alot of compliments on the sound of the car..so i would say go for it.

It's ******* amazing.... I love it.

Sure it's quiet... but the rumble it makes plus with me having a baby to sit in the back seat it's the perfect exhaust for us "older" guys who don't want to sound like a flying fart!

I had the same problem. My original setup was clearimage header with 3inch downpipe and highflow cat connected to a tsudo exhaust. It was way too loud. Now i have the stock catback system on there with the header and sounds good and quiet. My final setup will be to add a dynomax superturbo muffler. I heard those mufflers are very quiet do to there design. You should try that and see if it works since those turbo mufflers arent very expensive.

idk. i think its because im catless but dont know. my old corsa was even worse. i have noticed that its pretty close to the heat sheild for the gas tank and the rear axle or what ever you want to call it.. lol. so mabye its vibrations but i can shake it pretty hard by hand and it doesnt hit so im thinking its not that.

any ideas?

probably cause you're catless. if it were hitting up against the rear cross member it would be making a different noise. mine did that when i had it on there for a rough fit before i adjusted the length

heres some more. don't mind the times they were having problems with the clocks that night.

....or the commentary.

I recommend making sure you have a downpipe with a cat, otherwise the exhaust is raspy.

i have both a catted down pipe and catless

I was gonna swap the catted one back on with the new flowmaster setup to see how it sounds,

its to the point know where taking off from a light is embarrassing

thanks for all the clips and vids!@ your input is pretty helpful

The only time my exhaust is raspy is over 3k to 3500 rpm's, cruising it is amazing.

cruising is fine, and low rpms under load sound fine

anything 3.5-7K is garbage

The cat on my clear image pipe is very small, maybe 6-8 inches, so i cant image a huge decrease in raspyness by putting back on.

Not sure, I am running catless currently so I have to deal with the rasp, I am going to look into another resonator or possibly a catted dp, I dunno. It doesn't really bother me though.

I love my Hahn 3". It's mellow at cruising rpm's with no drone whatsoever, but it get's nice and loud when you put the hammer down. I had the GMPP sport for a while and it just didn't cut it. It had an annoying drone a cruising rpm's, the resinator(sp?) scraped on speed bumps, and it felt restrictive up high. The Hahn 3" has no such issues. Heads WILL turn when you have this exhaust!

Well i ordered the Hahn exhaust today after NGA offered me a great price on it.!

I went home and put my catted DP on just to compare this current setup, and it is dramatically better.

I will probably end up running a cat after i get my tune worked out on the fuel but in the mean time, hopefully the Hahn exhaust will not disappoint when it gets thrown on.

also off topic- i ordered a 2.7 to replace my 2.8 and went ahead and ordered a new intercooler pump as well.
