Horsepower

Setup A.

GM Stage 2
Vibrant header/downpipe
Magnaflow catback
ABM

Setup B.

OTTP Stage 1
TM off 7200 RL
LS4 TB
3 inch intake
Ported/polished SC
Vibrant header/dowpipe
Magnaflow catback
Stu mod
HE

How much more power should setup B make? How much more should it trap? Close estimates.

Anyone?

I was looking it up and the LS4 tb seems to give decent low end power. Why do you suggest it not being used? Excluding it's sensitivity.

Hmm, not worth the money/time for such weak gains.

Definitely not.

When I was on GM Stage 2 with 2.9 I ran a couple OTT Stage 1 cars with cooling mods and full exhaust.

I ran 13.7 @104. My mods were

-GM Stage 2 with 2.9
-Magnaflow Catback
-K&N Intake
-OTT H/E

That is it.

I ran other guys with the following

-60's
-2.8
-Custom tuned
-meth injection
-full header/dp/exhaust
-option b
-intake
-h/e

The best one of those could net was 13.8 @102.

like everyone says its in the "tune". i skip'd gm stage kits and did ottp stage 1. i dont kno if gm does this but with ottp you have the option to, take off torque management, and select you rev limit and so forth if that helps...
but fot the money now i would do ottp stage 1. you get more goodies and if you decide to tune more aggressivaly you already have a 2.8 pully and 60's from the kit so you dont have to buy them later on...

My car was quite a bit faster on the ott stage 1 than it was on the gm stage 2 wth 2.9 and same exhaust and stuff. I was seeing like 10.4AFR on the gm tune which was super rich, so i think that had a lot to do with it. I noticed a bigger gain adding meth and tuning it than I did from gm to ottp though.

Not what I said. I just gave you a comparo of the 2 from my own track experience.

There is not a drastic difference in either. A small difference yes, but nothing major. The tune is where you will see a difference. lean her out, crank timing, throw some meth through her, add some cooling mods and you'll have a nice little streetster running around.

Why's it a fail mod? Since you know everything and then some about cooling mods, why does the 'stu mod' fail?

I've raced a 2.8 60's car tuned by OTT when I was on Stage 2 with 2.9. His car was a teensy bit quicker but nothing drastic at all. there's maybe a 2 psi difference in boost levels at most in comparison between a 2.8 and 2.9.

hay! my car was f*ck'd up back then.....now it would be a lil drifferent, but your right not that big of a diff. for the best $ deal ottp wins, you get a 2.8 and 60's. saves you later down the road for tuning......
