how to adjust shift cables

can anyone tell me how to adjust the shift cable? i installed a B&M short shifter a couples weeks ago and its been kind of hard to get it in reverse. Also when i go to put it in 5th i have to lift up on the reverse lock-out..any ideas?

Did you mark the cables with a sharpie like the instructions say?

that didn't help me the bend in the shifter is alot different for me so i have to fix it.. i'm just lazy/ used to it now

I ground a little going into 2nd. Find the cable that is the R cable put a small ruler down there, and mess with the settings some. When your in R. You want the cable going the farthest.

Just be careful. And be patient. Can't rush it.

there are 2 cables, the one on the left is the one you need to mess with, pop the clip with it in neutral and move the shifter to the left a little and then pop the clip back in. that should take care of it.

my shifter sits a bit to the left and forward.. i gotta fix it so it's straight up in neutral i'll probably tackle that when i install my intake though since it was a bitch to do the first time

the good thing about is all you have to do is remover the shifter boot and can mess with them that way
